Step Forward into Volunteering and Employment will be running several Library of Lived Experience events during October and November; one is taking place in West Cumbria at:

Carnegie Theatre, Workington. Tuesday 14^th November 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

These sessions are an opportunity for our books to talk about their own stories, about their own lived experiences but unlike an article, social media post or case study hearing someone talk in person can allow people to see the emotion and meaning of a story more clearly. Readers may benefit from learning about mental health in a non-clinical language. This could help inspire hope about their own mental health journeys or allow readers to support others in their lives.

They are run by our librarians who will be in attendance to offer guidance and support to both books and readers. They also give readers the opportunity to ask questions about the subject.
